Brent River College provides education for up to 82 students aged 5 to 16 who have either been permanently excluded from mainstream school or are on a placement. They are taught in groups of normally no more than seven. In the majority of cases, students arrive at Brent River College with an educational history disrupted by several fixed term exclusions, permanent exclusion and possibly several changes of school.
A higher than average number of students are classified as SEND. There is also a higher than average percentage of boys and students eligible for Pupil Premium.
We operate on two main sites with Primary and Key Stage 3 based at Stag Lane and Key Stage 4 based at Poplar Grove. We also have an additional site for vocational and alternative provision.
We are a caring, co-operative community that is serious about its social responsibility. We listen to all in our community and seek consensus.
