We want our children to enjoy learning for a real purpose and to develop their confidence, self-esteem, independence and a genuine love of learning as well as developing basic life-skills.

Our primary curriculum is designed to ensure that our children make embedded progress both academically and emotionally.  We plan to keep in line with mainstream provision, in order to build confidence to support their re-integration.  It is designed to be a balance between group learning and tailor-made programmes for individuals.   We have developed our curriculum offer to be relevant, personalised and bespoke, depending on the pupils' needs. This includes our topic based curriculum which supports children to understand the world around them and gives them an opportunity to experience a wide range of creative and experiential activities.

As part of the curriculum we deliver interventions such as Read Write Inc. to support the teaching of phonics and reading. We use Precision Teaching in order to close any gaps in the children’s learning.  ​These are intensive literacy programmes based upon daily teaching of synthetic phonics.  Pupils have access to Active Learn reading programme and they can access their books on line at home and in school. The books are allocated by the teachers depending on every pupil's needs and fluency.

We believe passionately in the development of the whole child, drawing upon the rich diversity of our multicultural community to nurture tolerance, self- regulation, awareness and respect.  We have a wide range of interventions to support their personal development which includes, boxing therapy, Apple’s friends, Pogo pulse amongst others.
